Fans of GTA 6, tired of waiting for Rockstar to share news, can now pre-order the game, but there’s a catch. The highly anticipated next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is still scheduled to release in Fall 2025, but Rockstar has remained silent since the first trailer was released in December 2023.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the second trailer and official gameplay details, having only seen small parts from the major 2022 leaks.
They are still waiting to learn the game’s price, with rumors suggesting it could cost more than most AAA games. However, some fans found out they can actually pre-order GTA VI early, even though there hasn’t been an official announcement yet.
On social media, people shared pictures from a Gamers Hideout store in Malaysia. On the shelf was a fake GTA 6 box featuring the official artwork, the same one fans have been seeing for over a year.
There is no game inside the box, but it’s a placeholder, allowing fans to place a RM14.90 (around $3 USD) deposit for GTA 6.
The Gamers Hideout website also lets users pre-order the game and offers more details. Essentially, this allows players to pre-order the pre-order, guaranteeing a physical copy.
Once Rockstar announces the official price and editions, players will need to pay the full price. Though this isn’t the major pre-order news fans were hoping for, those worried about missing out on GTA 6 might want to take advantage of this early offer.
Experts predict GTA 6 will break revenue records, reaching over $1 billion in pre-orders alone. Some even expect it will bring in $3.2 billion in its first year, surpassing big blockbuster films.
GTA 6 Price: What to Expect
One of the main questions about GTA 6 is how much it will cost. Rockstar has not revealed the price yet, but based on industry trends, it could be the most expensive game in the GTA series. When GTA 5 was released in 2013, it was priced at $59.99 USD.
As the cost of game development has risen, publishers have started charging more for their games. For example, Take-Two Interactive, the company that publishes GTA, sold games like NBA 2K24 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns for $70 USD instead of the usual $60 USD.

It is believed that the estimated $2 billion development budget for GTA 6 could make the price higher than $70, but it might still follow the usual pricing in the industry.
GTA 6 Pre-Order: When and What to Expect
Pre-orders for GTA 6 are not available yet. Rockstar typically begins pre-orders a few months before the release. For instance, pre-orders for Red Dead Redemption 2 started about 130 days before its release in 2018. If GTA 6 follows a similar timeline and is released in Q1 2025, fans might be able to pre-order in September or October 2024.
Rockstar has not shared any details about pre-order bonuses for GTA 6. Previous pre-orders included digital rewards. For example, pre-ordering GTA 5 gave players immediate access to the Atomic Blimp vehicle and a 75% discount on other Rockstar games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-orders offered a special horse mount and the Outlaw Survival Kit. There is a lot of speculation about what GTA 6 pre-orders could include, such as in-game currency, special weapons, or vehicles.
Early access, a feature found in games like Call of Duty: MW3 and Bethesda’s Starfield, could also be offered, giving players a chance to play the game before the official release.
GTA 6 Anticipated Release Date
As the release of GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S approaches in 2025, fans are excited to see what Rockstar Games has in store and are eager to make pre-orders when the time comes.
